Aruba Sport Eyewear is a company dedicated to providing quality eyewear for athletes at an affordable price. In addition to our sport sunglasses line, we also carry a line of quality Streetwear which is sold in high end automobile dealerships. We are currently in our eighth year in the sunglasses business with warehouse/office space in McKinney, Texas.
The company was founded by Marc and Susan McKinney in Southern California in 2001. The couple took to the road in a 41’ motorhome traveling the U.S. for over four years before settling in Texas. During that period they sold the line at over 250 running, cycling, and triathlon expos. The company also had two other crews covering expos until 2007.
They spoke with thousands of athletes at these events finding what these folks wanted in a sport sunglass. In addition, Aruba Sport sponsors individual triathletes, endurance runners, track and field competitors as well as tennis, cycling, triathlon and snowshoe teams. These athletes, known as Team Aruba, test new styles and materials at actual events and give their input on what works and what needs improvement. We still attend race expos in support of our retail store clients. The results of this continuing R&D are found in the 2008 line.
